About Us
ASME's mission is to serve diverse global communities by advancing, disseminating and applying engineering knowledge for improving the quality of life; and communicating the excitement of engineering.
As the NTU student section of the bigger ASME family, we carry out events in line with the values of the main section, and functions as a bridge to the larger ASME sections.
ASME's mission is to serve diverse global communities by advancing, disseminating and applying engineering knowledge for improving the quality of life; and communicating the excitement of engineering.
Fundamental programming concepts were introduced to primary school students
which helped them design a line follower algorithm.
This event helped foster an interest among the students in the world of programming and robotics. The students learnt:
- Programming Fundamentals: Variables, loops, conditionals, and to identify and fix coding issues
- Robotics Knowledge: Understand and use robot components and design a line follower robot algorithm
This workshop helped introduce students to the fundamental knowledge and
practical skills to navigate the exciting world of mobile robots.
This event provided participants with:
- Hands-On Experience: Practical exposure to engineering concepts
- Professional Interaction: Networking opportunities with industry experts
Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) is a leading R&D facility
in additive manufacturing located right within NTU.
This event helped students grasp the fundamentals of Robot Operating System 2 (ROS2).
Skills gained from the workshop include:
- Navigateing with Code: Implement basic navigation algorithms for mobile robots using Python and ROS2.
- Building Robotic Confidence: Gain hands-on experience programming autonomous robot behaviors.
Overnight board games were played at Mind Cafe for ice-breaking and team-building, which strengthened relations united the team for a fruitful AY23/24
Sunningdale Tech is a global leader in the precision plastics industry
with advanced manufacturing operations based in Singapore.
In collaboration with Sunningdale Tech and Ureca Club, ASME-NTU members
got the chance to get a glimpse into the future of manufacturing via a
site visit to Sunningdale Tech's advanced manufacturing facilities.
Conducted over 2 sessions, our guest speaker Dr. Muka Bansal went through the fundamentals of MatLab and gave various tips and tricks on how to use the software effectively.
Find out moreIn collaboration with Siemens, ASME-NTU conducted a series of workshops, totalling 6h, where participants learnt to make sketches, synchronise and order other feature of parts, make assemblies and drawings from 3D models, amongst other skills.
Find out moreIn collaboration with Acceleron, ASME-NTU hosted an industrial sharing where Acceleron shared about the turbocharing industry and a career in engineering.
